He again exposes himself : He says he has received more than 12,000 messages supporting this "symbolic act".

According to the fake Ayatollah, he has received 12,000 messages in his office for presenting a Calligraphy to the Baha'i UHJ.
Where is your office Ayatollah ? Your Thank you letter on your "Website" has 60 Votes and your underground office received 12,000 messages. Very strange!

This Ayatollah is the Follower of Baha'u'llah !

He says : In the first three days following the news of the presentation of an artwork to the followers of the Bahá’í Faith as a symbol of friendship and coexistence among the adherents of all religions, more than 12,000 messages supporting this symbolic act were sent to my office and such expressions of appreciation continue to arrive. The volume of correspondence received is so extensive that my office does not have the capacity to reply to each message individually. During the short time that has passed since the presentation of this artwork, Bahá’í and non-Bahá’ís— especially my dear compatriots, both Muslim and non-Muslim — have responded to its intended message with joy and, by the breadth of their vision, have brought my heartfelt intention closer to realization.

Tehran Press Reports on Abdol Hamid Masoumi Tehrani

With Baha'is

Ayatollah Masoumi Tehrani under Microscope.

This "Great Ayatollah" had a series of websites :
  1. The latest http://www.amasumi.net
  2. Earlier it was : http://www.ahmt.org
  3. Prior to this he had : http://masomi.org

When I searched the Internet Registrar for domain www.amasumi.net I found some interesting information.

On 11th February 2012, the WHO.IS details were :

Registrant:
Ayatollah Masoumi Tehrani Office
Ayatollah Masoumi Tehrani (officeahmt@gmail.com)
Tehran-tehranno
Tehran
Erevan,1955666464
AM
Tel. +21.123456

Creation Date: 10-May-2010
Expiration Date: 10-May-2012

When checked on 5th June 2014 the Registration details were hidden for "unknown reasons".

Now a days normally every "Genuine Ayatollah" has a Website, his Phone numbers and office address are available easily on his website. Many Ayatollahs have online chat options so their followers can get direct answers from their respective offices.

This Ayatollah does not have an office in Iran. He is operating from so many years but he does not own a Landline Phone or Office where he can be contacted. He can only be contacted through his "International Officer and Representative in the United Kingdom" Mr. Pouria Hadjibagheri. His whereabouts are only known to Baha'is and their well-wishers. These Baha'is regularly visit him and take his interviews and publish on their websites operated from western countries.

Surprisingly this Ayatollah did not had enough staff and enough money in 2011 and 2012 to renew his old domains ahmt.org and masomi.org. The domains were expired and now he has enough money to keep his website up till 2020. He also believes that "Ayatollahs" should have some source of income so they should learn Calligraphy or some other Art. This calligraphy is a source of income to this Ayatollah.

In his recent interview he stated :
I knew nothing about Baha’ism and during their visit I told them so. It was only after our meeting that I opened the Book of Aqdas.
When I did a little search on WAYBACK MACHINE of INTERNET ARCHIVE, it became clear that he was knowing about the Baha'i cult from atleast 2010. His website has a banner of BAHA'I FAITH in the year 2010. See the screenshot.

In fact in Iran Baha'i faith is known to everyone. I guess this Ayatollah has studied in Iran and how is it that he does not know anything about Baha'ism, until Baha'is met him and gave him Aqdas!

Mr. Masoumi Tehrani is also expert in Hebrew Language. He is expert in Christian and Jewish scriptures and the scholar of his caliber does not know about Bahaism is really a difficult thing to understand.

If he has gone to Hoza of Qom which I think so, he has, and acquired religious knowledge from so many scholars then how is it that he knows nothing of Bab and Baha'u'llah ! This is strange.

His website has pictures showing him with Grand Ayatollah's Naser Makarem Shirazi and Grand Ayatollah Rohani. Both these Grand Ayatollah's consider Baha'is to be Apostates and religiously unclean (Najes).

Charlatan with Ayatollah Naser Makarem Shirazi

Ayatollah Rohani's answer about Baha'ism

Please check some snapshots of the website (Click to Enlarge) of this suspicious Ayatollah :
Masoumi Tehrani's website has 239 members in his Forums since 2011. There may be many Baha'i members. Baha'is love this Ayatollah because he works for them.

Although Ayatollah Masoumi Tehrani claims that he knows nothing of Bahaism, his website in 2012 had a special section for promoting this cult. And apparently 9.4% of the visitors coming to his website were Baha'is.

This Ayatollah had "Baha'i Banner" on his website since atleast January 2011.

All registration information made private as on 5th June 2014. Why Private?

Promoting Baha'i Cult from his website. No Baha'i promote "Covenant Breaker's" website. Why this Ayatollah is promoting Baha'i Faith, when they are open enemies of Shiites and declared "Covenant Breakers" by each and every genuine Islamic scholar.

Baha'i banner on his website in 2010 also.

How much of a Scholar is Masoumi Tehrani ?

Masoumi Tehrani giving interviews to Anti-Islamic channels.
What contribution he has done to Islam, who are his students, what books he has written, which Islamic Magazine or channel has published his Islamic views still remains a mystery.

Some points to ponder :
He is in Iran and he says he knows nothing of Bahaism before he was visited by some Baha'i gentlemen. He has lied. Proofs - please see here.

He says if his physical condition allowed him to turn the whole Baha'i book into calligraphy, he would have done so. Even if he is really an ordinary Iranian scholar, he must be aware of the bloody conflict that was created by Bab and Baha'u'llah and their followers in Iran some 150 years ago. They were responsible for the killing of thousands of Iranians. Proofs - please see here.

Further he says,
"To believe in a religion is not to deny the human rights of people who believe in other religions". So he strongly believes in Human Rights of Baha'is. According to Baha'is themselves there are some 300 thousand Baha'is in Iran but some 300 (i am not sure of exact figure) are in prisons for various reasons. Major being distribution of Baha'i literature, luring innocent youth through young girls to become Baha'i, gathering at public places and indulging in vulgar activities, deceiving children and their parents in the name of Children Moral Classes, making classified documents open to enemy states, forming illegal groups, being part of banned organizations. There are many more reasons. Most of the proofs are available here.

These Baha'is are already enjoying their life in Iranian Prison. He should speak more about the Human Rights of Palestinians who are spending their lives in Israel Prisons just for being a Palestinian. He is silent on this issue like his Baha'i friends.
Further he says :
He does not believe Apostates and Covenant Breakers to be unclean. He says this is a personal edict of some Shiite Scholars and has no basis in Islamic jurisprudence.

Someone should please give him open access to all the books of Bab and Baha'u'llah so he may understand what Muslims are doing with Baha'is is very reasonable and full of Justice and Mercy. If (God Forbid) they were at our place, they would have done much worse. Like what they have done in the past when they had little power for some time. This Ayatollah is totally ignorant of Babi history. Also someone should make him read the Articles of Juan Cole and Frederick Glaysher (Both Ex-Baha'is) on SHUNDAMENTALISM in the Baha'i faith.

He speaks further about Temporary Marriage in Shiite Islam although he personally does not believe in it. He also believes in Masturbation to be lawful and Hejab to be decided by women,  Music to be lawful and discourages Taqleed. He has many weird beliefs that are totally against Shiite Islam.

He speaks about Ayatollah Montazeri without being aware how Baha'is played with this issue by misquoting him and when the issue was exposed by prominent Azali scholar, Wahid Azal, they immediately stopped propagating it. See this blog about the Fatwa of Ayatollah Montazeri. Baha'is have always taken benefit from innocent Muslim scholars who are unaware of Babi-Baha'i history and their beliefs. This in itself is a crime.

He further quotes Hossein Nasr and says that it is permissible for Muslims and the followers of other religions to cooperate and socialize,  but that it is incumbent on Muslims to uphold the principles of justice and equality. Discrimination and persecution of other religions is not acceptable. This poor fellow does not know that Baha'ism is not a religion. It is a cult that wants to establish a New World Order with its headquarters in the occupied lands. So I think, this Ayatollah needs to take some time from his calligraphy Job and read the Babi and Baha'i history, the damage caused to Iranian society and culture by these cultists and how the Imperialist countries are offering unconditional support to them.

If he is really a genuine figure and does not fear anybody as he claims in his interview with Baha'i Cultists, he should come openly, provide correct information on his website. He should change his fake Telephone Number with the correct one. ;-) Presently his phone number is : Tel. +21.123456

At one forum I found this regarding the "Great Ayatollah" :
He seems to be a total anti-Islamic pro-American pro-Zionist nut. He allegedly gifted a gold Torah to the US in a gesture of "friendship". He's a total traitor.

Who is Ayatollah's Mentor, International Officer and representative ?

The information regarding Mr. Pouria Hadjibagheri was public till June 2013, after the meeting with Baha'i Gentlemen it was made hidden.

Mr. Pouria Hadjibagheri is the "Sole Agent" of this Great Ayatollah.

Pouria Hadjibagheri's flickr page.

Hadjibagheri in Gay Parade, London.

Waving Post Revolution Iranian Flag in London Gay Parade. Normally these kind of people use the Pre revolution Iranian Flag in their events but when it comes to Gay Parade and events like that they use the current flag.

The Mentor, International Officer and representative of "Great Ayatollah" Masoumi-Tehrani in the U.K.

Baha'is betraying Fools and Innocent people....

What do Baha'is have for this "Great Ayatollah"?

Nothing, they have deceived him. He simply became a tool in the hands of cunning Haifan Baha'is. They have used many people in this way. They (UHJ) have not spared the Baha'is for their clever agendas, who is this Ayatollah for them!

They will make him a victim and then take benefit from him. Baha'is have done this many times to gain popularity and media attention. Here is a good article by a Baha'i who does not believe in the "Authority of Haifan UHJ" please read this article here :

Masoumi Tehrani visits the family of Baha'i criminals.

Why the Baha'is are criminals ?

They have disobeyed the laws of the Land they live in. In Islamic Iran, propagation of Bahaism is banned. This is just like the ban of teaching other Baha'i denominations to the Haifan Baha'is or teaching Baha'ism to Jews in Israel. See http://www.sectsofbahais.com to understand various Baha'i denominations. In Iran it is not allowed to spread Covenant Breaking materials. Just like in Baha'i religion.

If Baha'is start teaching and converting Jews in Israel. They will be kicked out by their host country. In Iran also teaching is banned but because it is beneficial for their "Host Country" they go against the law and endanger their lives.

According to Baha'is there are 300 thousand Baha'is in Iran. For actual and factual information about Baha'i population please see http://bahaicensusindia.blogspot.com. Anyway.... Not all are persecuted or sent to prisons for being members of banned cults. There are many other cults in Iran and they also enjoy freedom. There are Azalis and Babis and they enjoy total freedom of belief. There are Orthodox Baha'is and free to believe in whatever rubbish they want to believe. There are Christians, Jews and Sikhs. There are many Atheists too.

The Baha'is are involved in Deceptive Conversion Techniques throughout the world. In this age of Information where every information is available on fingertips it is not easy to fool the masses. Listen to this lady Baha'i Counselor who shares her experience about Children Classes in India. How Baha'is convert the children and their parents to Baha'i cult in the name of Moral Education (Says Gloria Javid).

In Egypt, Uzbekistan, Iran, Indonesia, Sri Lanka and India they have been punished for their illegal activities.

See :

Baha'is are criminals if they teach their cult in Iran. If they don't teach to others... they are free to believe in anything. They are free to believe Mr. Hossein Ali Nuri as God or Manifestation of God or anything.

What Masoumi Tehrani could have done ?

When I was studying Baha'i Ruhi Books, my tutor always reminded me that the best gift that you can give to a Non-Baha'i is the Baha'i Message. If you love humanity, you should give them Baha'i teachings. There is no other good for them except the teachings of Baha'u'llah (The most great Satan).
Keeping this in mind, I would have suggested the Great Ayatollah, that he could have presented some Beautiful Verses of Quran, that he may have learned during his student life in Hoza.

If I were at his place I would have gifted them these verses :

Then as to those who disbelieve, I will chastise them with severe chastisement in this world and the hereafter, and they shall have no helpers. (Holy Quran 3:56)

The punishment of those who wage war against Allah and His apostle and strive to make mischief in the land is only this, that they should be murdered or crucified or their hands and their feet should be cut off on opposite sides or they should be imprisoned; this shall be as a disgrace for them in this world, and in the hereafter they shall have a grievous chastisement. Except for those who return [repenting] before you apprehend them. And know that Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.
(Holy Quran 5:33, 34)

Baha'is are mischief-makers and they should be handled intelligently and wisely. Great Ayatollah, If you were intelligent enough you would not have behaved like this. Go and educate yourself  in Babi and Baha'i history.

An Interview With Ayatollah Abdol-Hamid Masoumi-Tehrani

He has met the Baha'is before also (in 2013 and many times prior to that) but he says he did not knew anything about them.
He has placed a Banner of "Official Baha'i website" on his own Website although he did not know anything about this new Iranian cult!!

On April 7th Ayatollah Abdol-Hamid Masoumi-Tehrani presented a gift to the Baha’i faith, an intricate work of calligraphy citing a passage from the faith’s holy scripture. In doing so, the cleric sent a remarkable message of support to Iran’s own Baha’i minority, which continues to face intimidation and arbitrary arrests. No senior cleric in the Islamic republic had done such a thing before—nor are they likely to do anything similar soon.

The gesture met with considerable praise, not only from Baha’is but also from religious figures around the world, including Buddhist, Muslim, Sikh and Zoroastrian communities in India and the former archbishop of Canterbury, Lord Rowan Williams, who called it an act of “immense significance.”

In a statement published on his website, Ayatollah Tehrani called the gift “an expression of sympathy and care from me and on behalf of all my open-minded fellow citizens who respect others for their humanity and not for their religion or way of worship—to all the Baha’is of the world, particularly to the Baha’is of Iran who have suffered in manifold ways as a result of blind religious prejudice.”

Tehrani is an accomplished calligrapher and has produced similar works from the Book of Ezra, the Psalms, the New Testament, as well as from the Koran. His unorthodox positions—for example that stoning for adultery is unIslamic—and his critical stance towards the establishment have led to his arrest on a number of occasions.

His groundbreaking gesture might prove to be more symbolic than anything else. Yet its significance must be appreciated in the context of persecution of Baha’is in Iran today. Despite reports by the UN Human Rights Council and others on the dire human rights situation for Baha’is in Iran, the Islamic Republic continues to deny all claims. “Our system has generously defended the Baha’is, has protected them and has given them security,” said Mohammad Javad Larijani, Head of the Iranian Judiciary’s Human Rights Council. “We have no one in prison for being a Baha’i. We have not persecuted a single person for being a Baha’i.”

Ayatollah Tehrani talked to IranWire about his gift to Baha’is and the motivation behind this unprecedented act.

What made you decide to turn a passage from the Book of Aqdas into a calligraphic, illuminated page and give it to the Baha’i House of Justice as a gift?

I had done this before with the texts of other religions but not the Baha’is’ Book of Aghdas. I was negligent. Of course I had talked about the Baha’is many times before. A few years ago I wrote a letter to Mr. Mohseni-Ejei [the prosecutor general of the Islamic Republic], in which I alluded to Baha’ism and mentioned violations against the rights of these children of God. But recently, after some Baha’i gentlemen came to visit me, I thought: I have worked with the Koran, the Torah, the New Testament and the Psalms. Why not do the same with the Baha’i texts to complete the set and soothe them in some way?

I knew nothing about Baha’ism and during their visit I told them so. It was only after our meeting that I opened the Book of Aqdas. The truth is that my physical condition no longer allows me to turn the whole book into calligraphy as I did with the others. For this reason I selected one passage, turned it into calligraphy and sent it to the House of Justice.

You are a Shi’a and have researched Abrahamic religions. But Shi’as reject Baha’ism completely. What you did is a violation of your own religious teachings. What is your response to this?
To believe in a religion is not to deny the human rights of people who believe in other religions. We follow Imam Ali [for Shi’as, the first imam after Mohammad], who told his loyal companion Malik Al-Ashtar in his famous letter that people are brothers, whether by religion or by creation. I am not a believer in Baha’ism but this is no reason to deny and ignore their humanity and their God-given rights. Do we have to believe in other people’s religions to defend their human rights? Respecting the inborn dignity of humans must not be polluted by religious or ethnic loyalties.

One fatwa against the Baha’is states: “All Baha’is are unclean. If they touch anything, observing all rules on cleansing is obligatory.” What do you think about this religious edict?

This is a personal edict and has no basis in Islamic jurisprudence. No human being is physically unclean or untouchable. Belief in a religion does not make one clean or unclean. These kinds of edicts mostly result from a consensus between clerics and they are usually modified with the passage of time. Even before there were any Baha’is, a group of jurists considered all non-Muslims to be unclean—although this is against both the Koran and the narratives of the Prophet. I utterly reject it, not only where Baha’is are concerned but about all non-Muslims. This is not just my personal view. The late Ayatollah Khoei (1899-1992) wrote a lengthy and well-documented discussion on the subject and rebutted the notion that infidels are unclean. Of course, he eventually came to the conclusion that, since other religious leaders insist that unbelievers are unclean, we should say the same thing. Ayatollah Jannaati has refuted the idea completely.

Some clerics, hardliner politicians and Iranian media outlets refer to you as unorthodox. Do you think your way of thinking goes against traditional religious leaders?

Unfortunately religious teachings have been overshadowed by exaggerations and false interpretations, so if one refers back to the original teachings, everybody is unorthodox. This of course does not mean that we should not review traditional teachings, but we can’t call this unorthodoxy. There are many traditional senior jurists whose views on certain subjects might seem different and unorthodox.

What do traditional religious leaders think about your views?

There might be differences of opinion in some areas but this does mean necessarily mean there is disrespect among religious leaders. For example, Ayatollah Rouhani believes that taking a woman as a concubine does not require the the permission of her father, but others object to such an interpretation. There would be no question over Baha’ism if people refrained from making false statements about Islamic beliefs. Religious leaders would be happy to solve these quarrels and differences.

Ayatollah Montazeri took the first step, by defending the rights of Baha’is. Hossein Nasr took the second step, and said not only that it was permissable for Muslims and the followers of other religions to cooperate and socialize,  but that it is incumbent on Muslims to uphold the principles of justice and equality. Discrimination and persecution of other religions is not acceptable. Now that the door has been opened, the old prejudices among the traditional religious leaders are no longer dominant. In the past, Baha’is have been accused of trying to uproot the Shi’a religion, but now such statements are less common. These problems must be solved. We should be able to live together in peace, regardless of religion, like many other societies do.

If this is the case, why don’t religious leaders react to discrimination against the Baha’is?

Maybe those who are in positions of power see the world differently. When I’m asked why clerics are silent, I say that the expectation that they should speak up is somewhat absurd. The clergy has faced attacks over the past few years. Who can guarantee that if a cleric speaks up, his door won’t be broken down by people who disagree with him? They are afraid too. What can they do? Our government is run by a group of clerics who have different views, but the clerics on the other side, who have spoken up, have invited a lot of trouble for themselves. Wasn’t Ayatollah Shariatmadari (1905-1986; known for his liberal views] a cleric? Isn’t  [reformist politician] Mehdi Karroubi a cleric? These days all protesters are treated the same way and it does not matter whether he is a Shi’a or a Sunni, a cleric or a non-cleric.

The silence of the dissident clergy might lead people to believe that all clerics support the government, leading them to distance themselves from them more and more.
You are right. People believe in the message of religion but they don’t believe in the messengers. Some days ago Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi and a few others advised people not to accept subsidies. They don’t understand that the time of figures like Ayatollah Mirza Shirazi [a famous cleric of the late Qajar era] are gone. When Shirazi issued his edict[against the monopoly granted by the king to the British Imperial Tobacco Company in the 19th century], people broke hookahs to show they accepted the pronouncement, even in the king’s palace. But now nobody cares about mullahs’ edicts—because some of those who wear the mantle have lied and deceived. Instead of living simply, they live in grandeur. People notice these things. I have said it before: If this continues, people will not want to bandage a wound on someone’s head, lest they be mistaken for someone wearing a turban.

After you met with the Baha’is, was there any direct response from leading clerics?

No. Of course, I expected to be summoned. But it seems it has dawned on them that they cannot pressure me. With all the things that have gone on before, why should they want to come and take me away?

So you have no fears of government action?

None for myself, but I am definitely worried for my mother.

Baha'is and Masoumi Tehrani

This is written by a Prominent Baha'i of Singapore who does not believe in the Authority of Haifan UHJ.

Baha'i Leader : The day is not far when this "Prominent" Ayatollah will lead Friday Prayers in Haifa.
(An artist's representation)

To,
The Bahá’ís of the World
Allahu Abha

In a very recent incidence as mentioned by UHJ in letter dated 7 April 2014 that an Iranian senior cleric has presented to the Bahá’ís of the world, an exquisite calligraphic prepared by him of a passage in the Kitáb-i-Aqdas wherein Baha'u'llah calls upon His followers to: “Consort with all religions with amity and concord, that they may inhale from you the sweet fragrance of God.”

The letter requested the Bahá’ís to contact their Office of External Affairs to take immediate steps, in consultation with individuals and like-minded organizations, to draw widespread attention to it. The Office of External Affairs was also to call upon its contacts in the mass media, as well as Bahá’ís and others with whom it has established relationships and who have achieved distinction in such fields. The letter assured the Bahá’ís that alongside the foregoing action, the Bahá’í International Community, will be apprising its contacts at the United Nations and among international non-governmental agencies of the significance of this gift. The UHJ also hoped that The Brussels Office of the Bahá’í International Community will, in addition, pursue related action at the level of the European Union.

Surprisingly the letter further states that “Given the considerable risk to the personal freedom and safety of Ayatollah Masoumi-Tehrani on account of this courageous act, the fact that people of prominence in the political, religious, and civil spheres express their support publicly, may well serve as a protection for him. Your Office of External Affairs may consider making approaches to some of its high-level contacts in government and elsewhere on this matter, on a confidential basis.”

I have been a member of NSA of an Eastern country for almost twenty years and since then every month I see a Message from House asking the Bahá’ís to meet the prominent people or government officials or writing open letters to Iranian leaders. It surprises me that what is the purpose of this. It looks like the UHJ has no concern with the teachings of Baha’u’llah and its just involved in political matters. And then claims that Bahá’ís do not indulge in politics.

The recent letter of the UHJ has many unexplained points:

Even if the said cleric has gifted his calligraphy to the Bahá’ís, then it is a gesture. Why the Government of Iran should eliminate him and moreover in which way the governments of other countries are concerned with it. Isn’t the UHJ itself is suggesting the government of Iran to take some action against the cleric? It looks like the UHJ is playing a part of clever enemy and not a good friend for the cleric inspite of his gesture. UHJ by this way is really putting the life of the said cleric in danger. UHJ is not trying to PROTECT the cleric they want to further EXPOSE the cleric to the Iranian authority.

The UHJ is trying to make this incidence as an excuse of meeting various governments’ officials and influential people. I guess that the Bahá’ís must have informed and UHJ must have realized that the Government officials of various countries are no more interested in meeting them and are refusing to give any hearing to Bahá’ís. The declining support of countries towards various motion tabled by western countries on human right issue is an indication towards it.

My Persian Bahá’í friends who echoed same sentiments regarding this letter believed that this recent incident is fake, the Website is fake and it is operated from outside Iran. He said that this will put further restrictions on Bahá’ís and Bahá’í Faith. He narrated a recent incident that a couple of months back there was a news originated from some corners that an Iranian Mollah has praised Bahá’í Faith on Iranian TV. He said that we investigated the matter and found that the whole news is fictitious. When he talked to other Bahá’ís they were of the opinion that Bahá’ís themselves are putting these fake news on internet to get some publicity for them and putting their own Bahá’í brothers under more problems. He further said UHJ is interested in having more Martyrs from Iran.

A Persian Bahá’í recently informed me that he has come to certain conclusion that It was only UHJ who was interested in death sentence for Yaran so they could easily gather money from the Bahá’ís of the World. But the Iranian government acted smartly and waved off their death sentence and destroyed the Party of UHJ.

Never UHJ has taken some concrete steps to help the Bahá’ís of Iran. Whatever steps they took resulted in increased persecution of Bahá’ís.

Same policy UHJ has followed in other countries resulting in imprisonment of Bahá’ís in Indonesia, deportation in Uzbekistan arrest in India. The list is endless.

Isn’t it is the responsibility of parent body to see that if the situation is not favorable in some parts of the world to ask Bahá’ís to slow down their activities till the situation turns favorable but always the Messages of the House and directives of the counselors are “Go to Court” , “Go to police”, register a complaint. Even a layman will understand that UHJ is interested in blowing the situation out of control so as to gain some benefit and in return Bahá’ís are put to more harassment, in the name of reforming and transformation of the society. Really is the Blood of Bahá’ís become so cheap!!!.

He was very apprehensive of certain Iranian members of the UHJ whom he thinks are misguiding the UHJ and probably they are more close to Iranian Government then the teachings of Baha’u’llah. Instead of taking inspirations from the writings of Baha’u’llah they are being directed by friends of Iranian regime on regular basis.

The problem of the Bahá’í world are Persian Bahá’ís. They make a group, they decide amongst themselves they dictate terms, they humiliate non-Persian Bahá’ís in every country, make mockery of them and all of them are interconnected to each other. If this tendency went unchecked then very soon we will see all nine members of UHJ as Persians. We will see an Iranian flag over UHJ and the same Ayatollah leading Friday prayers in Haifa.

Ayatollah Abdolhamid Masoumi-Tehrani - Exposes himself.

This is what American Foreign Policy Blogs writing about the "FAMOUS AYATOLLAH"

Abdolhamid Masoumi-Tehrani is an Iranian Ayatollah based in Tehran, Iran. He is also a calligrapher and painter, who uses his art works to challenge openly Iran’s ruling clergy and power elite to adopt a more tolerant social and political order. A recent calligraphic art work by Ayatollah Masoumi-Tehrani sent shock waves through Iran’s ruling elite and the country’s civil society. His calligraphic work featured a passage from the Kitáb-i-Aqdas (Book of Aqdas) written by the founder of the Bahai faith, Baha’u’llah, in the 19th-century in Iran. According to Ayatollah Masoumi-Tehrani, his work of calligraphy from the Book of Aqdas is “a call for peaceful coexistence among followers of all religions”.

He loves "Covenant Breakers"!  His heart bleeds for them !!
The Bahá’ís are Iran’s largest religious minority with no legal protection because the Iranian constitution does not recognize them as a religious minority. In 2005, four years after the September 11 attacks in the United States, Ayatollah Masoumi-Tehrani presented to the Library of Congress one of his art works that featured calligraphic writings from Psalm in honor of those killed in the attacks. The former archbishop of Canterbury, Lord Rowan Williams of Oystermouth, has called the calligraphy work of Ayatollah Masoumi-Tehrani dedicated to the Bahá’í community “immensely significant”.

Ayatollah Masoumi-Tehrani spoke to Reza Akhlaghi of the Foreign Policy Association about the rights of religious minorities, Iran’s civil rights movement, and why it is important to have peaceful socio-political change in Iran. This discussion was conducted in Persian, then transcribed and translated into English by Reza Akhlaghi.

The "FAMOUS AYATOLLAH" believes more in Baha'ism then in Islam.

You recently wrote a calligraphic rendering of a passage from Kitáb-i-Aqdas (Book of Aqdas) and donated it to the Bahá’ís of the world. You’ve also called for equal rights for Iran’s Bahá’í community, who make up the country’s largest religious minority. What you’ve done has jolted Iran’s civil society and the country’s power structure. It also has contributed to renewed debates about the rights of religious minorities in Iran. Please explain how you see the impact of you’ve made.

From this point I can only see positive impact. The way I see it, it has opened new debates in our society including among our religious class. I live in a religious neighborhood, where, as a result of what I’ve done, people have felt more comfortable talking about religious minorities and their civil rights. And I think in long-term, it will have its impact felt more visibly. This is just the start in our civil rights movement. The important thing is for such actions to take place.

The general public welcomes such moves, but not those who, in one way or another, are connected to a political faction in the government because they have vested interests in the status quo. In Iran, as you know, we call such connected people ahleh bond-baazi, people who are part of a band, or faction. I firmly believe that we will see the impact of what I’ve done and similar acts on these people, but at a slower pace.

What kind of reaction have you seen from the Iranian clergy and the country’s power elite?
I have not seen a negative reaction coming from the traditional religious class, who happen to be mostly unhappy with the country’s current political environment. For example, Ayatollah Seyyed Hussein Ismail Al-Sadr in Najaf, Iraq, is a grand ayatollah and the most prominent Shiite cleric after Ayatollah Sistani. He has talked about the Bahá’í community very transparently. He has called for Muslims to treat the Bahá’ís the same way as others.

However, the religious leaders in Iran, for obvious reasons, do not express their mind as openly as those outside of the country, but the same clerics in Iran have shown privately their tacit support for equal treatment of the Bahá’ís. However, there are senior clerics in the government who have complained about what I’ve done and called it a step too far. The likes of Ayatollah Sanei and Makarem Shirazi, whom I personally know and have respect for,  directly and indirectly told me that presenting the gift was a step too far, but they think defending the rights of the Bahá’ís is something that deserves support.

This is not the first time I have presented a gift to followers of a religion other than Islam. For example, in 2005, four years after the September 11 attacks, I presented a gift of calligraphic rendering of Psalm in honor of those lost in the attacks. This work currently sits in the Library of Congress, which I believe due to political reasons, some American authorities chose not to publicize it as widely as they should have.  My action at the time in 2005 was met with criticism by certain clerics, but I told them that this is an expression of respect by Iranians to Christians in the U.S. who suffered a great loss. For me, it was much better than the images of Muslims beheading Christians; images that Americans see on their TV screens all the time.

I think the reaction to my work from the government authorities would come later. They will wait for a while before taking action because they don’t want to appear weak and against the civil society and religious minorities.

Do you believe that based on principles of state ideology in Iran there could be any room, however limited, for reconciliation with the country’s Bahá’í community?

No, I don’t think so. You see, Iran’s ruling elite have a particular reading of Islam, which is based on Shiite Jurisprudence of Velayat’eh Faqih. Forget about the Bahá’ís, they don’t even tolerate my views as a dissenting voice within the community of Shiite clerics. I have been stripped of my authority to lead prayers in the mosque and you expect them to accommodate the Bahá’ís? Let me put it this way, as long as this religious state ideology rules our government institutions, the rights of minorities will not be recognized and exercised unless the civil movement becomes strong enough to force the ruling elite to change their behavior and policies.

Is there any potential to reduce the ideological tension that the Iranian state has with the Bahá’í community by making amendments to the Iranian constitution?

To be honest with you, I don’t think it will happen. The Iranian constitution is very problematic. It is fraught with “ifs” and gray areas. To accommodate the rights of religious and ethnic minorities, we have to make changes to the constitution.

Let me give you an example, the constitution grants the right for public gatherings as long as they are commensurate with the country’s Islamic norms and laws. I believe these gray areas were inserted into the constitution to intentionally prevent certain social and political rights from becoming exercised. Only comprehensive changes to the Iranian constitution would make the development of a healthy social and political environment possible. We have, for example, the Guardians Council, which is another undemocratic institution that prevents the development of a democratic socio-political environment. So I think that in order to guarantee our rights, not just the Bahá’ís, but everyone’s rights, we need to make serious changes to our constitution.

There’s also the issue of separation of powers. The separation of powers in Iran is fraught with gray areas. The Iranian clerics are pretty good at twisting the facts and presenting them to the public as truth and reality. That’s how you see the clerical influence in our constitution. That’s why our constitution resembles a Tozi’hol-Masaa’el, books on religious guidance written by Shiite clerics.

We have to accept that the clerics don’t belong to politics. The clerics should go back to their mosques. They have been in charge of running this country for 35 years and their record is pretty clear to everyone.

I’ve heard that Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi has stated that Islam has a plan for everything. Are you kidding with me?! What plan? on the economy? finance? management? Well, I don’t see any of those plans.

Do you see a solution, either based on religious laws or civil laws, to the seemingly never-ending controversy around women’s compulsory wearing of Islamic Hejab in Iran?

This issue goes back to the kind of power structure and the political ideology we have in our government. As long as we don’t have a change in our political ideology, we can’t solve the issue of Hejab.

Fortunately, in the post-revolutionary period, our religious seminaries have extensively debated the Hejab and nearly all have agreed that it should be free and left to a woman’s choice and desire. For example, there are interpretations of the scripture (Koran) and their relevance to our time and day and how these new interpretations can be used to reflect modern day life and politics. If our hardworking clerics want to publicize their work about the Hejab, they will run into trouble and that’s why you don’t see their debates on such a sensitive issue as Hejab take place in public domain.

These are important developments taking place in our seminaries. I see the issue of Hejab as resolved. It’s just these developments have not made it to our legislative body and have not been adopted by our political elite, who have their own interpretation of religious laws with no room for debate and compromise. As long as we don’t see a change in our state political ideology, we will not see any resolution around sensitive and politically charged issues like Hejab and the rights of religious minorities.

How would you assess the future direction of Iran’s state ideology? Could there be a gradual adoption of a more Iranian nationalist tone as opposed to one based on principles of Shiite Islam?

Living under a religious ideology, many ordinary people have found a desire to nurture their nationalist sentiments. But I don’t see a change in state ideology based on Iranian nationalism. But the important thing about the state ideology in Iran is that it has turned into a tool for political manipulation. Even the ruling power elite do not believe in their ideology; they need it because it serves their interests.

For the adoption of an Iranian nationalist tone by the state we need change. I personally feel some kind of change is near, but I don’t know what shape it will have. The country’s socio-political atmosphere is very conducive to change, that’s for sure.

Is there a crisis of ethical values in today’s Iran? If there is one, do you see a way out of it?

I would not call it a crisis, but there is clearly a decline in our ethical values. People in Iran are frustrated; frustrated with economic difficulties in their lives, with the widespread corruption in the country’s management system. These are facts of life in our society. The question is how we change this situation and the answer lies in our civil movement and continuation of efforts in our civil society. What the Iranians have seen from the clergy is nothing but hypocrisy, lies, and double-standards. Through our civil society we can change this type of behavior.

I have warned those hardliners who desecrate the Bahá’í cemeteries. I’ve told them that one day it could happen to them. This is not civil and right. Through our civil movement we can teach them and educate them that these types of behavior are wrong and detrimental to the whole society.

For a long period of time in the United States, there was widespread racial prejudice against blacks, but the civil society changed that. The prejudice still exists, but it is not the way it was in the 50’s and the 60’s. Americans did not have the clerics we have in Iran who could procrastinate social change and insert gray areas in the American constitution and slow the pace of reform. So the Americans are lucky in that sense. In Iran we say “OK, the Bahá’ís are inferior, but we should recognize their rights”. It doesn’t work that way. In our constitution, we should recognize their civil rights as well as those of all other minorities as being equal by law.

We need action, not just talk. This is not right. When you make a promise, you have to execute on your promise. When you deliver on your promises, it leaves a long-lasting impact on people and they start to trust you.

Our problem in Iran is that we have incompetent rulers, who through their actions, have lost the trust of people and become symbols of ethical decline.

No Haifan Baha'i can do this and yet remain a Baha'i !!!

How Ironic !!!! This man remains a "Muslim Ayatollah" although he co-operates with "Covenant Breakers (Apostates)" and gifts them the writing of the "Most Great Manifestation of Satan". He openly praises "Covenant Breakers" while the same people who came to interview him, hates his creed, abuse his coreligionists, commits crime of deceiving innocent people. This ignorant man who is called as "Ayatollah" by Haifan Baha'is - is unaware of the Iranian History and the Babi and Baha'i cults.

Dare any Haifan Baha'i meet and talk a "Covenant Breaker"!! Promote his Ideas, gift him "Covenant Breaking Material". He will be immediately shunned. This Ayatollah still remains a "Muslim Ayatollah"!!!!

Ayatollah Masoumi Tehrani writing "Baha'u'llah's Words"

In an unprecedented symbolic act senior cleric calls for religious coexistence in Iran

7 April 2014
NEW YORK — In a symbolic and unprecedented move, Ayatollah Abdol-Hamid Masoumi-Tehrani, a prominent Muslim cleric in Iran, announced today that he has gifted to the Baha'is of the world an illuminated work of calligraphy of a paragraph from the writings of Baha'u'llah, the Prophet-founder of the Baha'i Faith.

This move comes in the wake of several recent statements by religious scholars in the Muslim world who have set out alternative interpretations of the teachings of Islam in which tolerance of every religion is, in fact, upheld by the holy Qur'an.

"This is a most welcome and hopeful development with possible implications for the coexistence of the peoples of the world," said Ms. Bani Dugal, Principal Representative of the Baha'i International Community at the United Nations.

Ayatollah Tehrani states on his website (see translation of statement) that he prepared the calligraphy of the verse as a "symbolic action to serve as a reminder of the importance of valuing human beings, of peaceful coexistence, of cooperation and mutual support, and avoidance of hatred, enmity and blind religious prejudice."

Ayatollah Tehrani presents this exquisite gift to the Baha'is of the world, particularly to the Baha'is of Iran, who he says "have suffered in manifold ways as a result of blind religious prejudice." He further states that this act is "an expression of sympathy and care from me and on behalf of all my open-minded fellow citizens."

In response, Ms. Dugal stated: "The Baha'i International Community is deeply touched by this act of high-mindedness and the sentiments of religious tolerance and respect for human dignity that prompted it."

"This bold action by a senior Muslim cleric in contemporary Iran is unprecedented," said Ms. Dugal. "It is also remarkable in light of the ongoing and systematic persecution of the Baha'i community in that country by the Islamic government."

The intricate artwork must have taken several months to painstakingly prepare by hand. It features at its center, a symbol known to Baha'is as "The Greatest Name" – a calligraphic representation of the conceptual relationship between God, His prophets and the world of creation. The gift measures at approximately 60cm x 70cm and is illuminated in a classical style. Ayatollah Tehrani's other artworks include the illumination of the Qur'an, the Torah, the Psalms, the New Testament, and the Book of Ezra. His illumination of the Psalms is currently being held in the United States Library of Congress.

The excerpt that Ayatollah Tehrani chose to cite in the gift is taken from Baha'u'llah's Kitab-i-Aqdas – "Most Holy Book". It reads "Consort with all religions with amity and concord, that they may inhale from you the sweet fragrance of God. Beware lest amidst men the flame of foolish ignorance overpower you. All things proceed from God and unto Him they return. He is the source of all things and in Him all things are ended."

On previous occasions, Ayatollah Tehrani has with great courage publicly voiced concern about the ongoing and severe persecution of religious minorities, including the Baha'is in Iran. Since the Islamic Revolution in 1979, hundreds of Baha'is have been killed and thousands have been imprisoned. There are currently 115 Baha'is being held in prison solely on the basis of their religious beliefs. Baha'is in Iran are denied access to higher education, obstructed from earning a livelihood, prevented from burying their dead in accordance with their own burial rites and subjected to the demolition and desecration and expropriation of their cemeteries, all because of their religion.

Ayatollah Tehrani's hope is that this gift "which will be kept by the Universal House of Justice [the international governing body of the Baha'i Faith] will serve as a reminder of the rich and ancient Iranian tradition of friendship and of its culture of coexistence."
